Mommy's Birthday!

The kids made my birthday so special, especially with Andrew being out of town. They surprised me with their thoughtfulness!

Ryan's birthday contribution was licking the chocolate frosting bowl for my cupcakes. Love the face!

Hannah writes me a beautiful note: "Dear Mom, I love you to the moon and back. Hope you have a good 36th Day. Here's a little thing I gave to you. I love you, Hannah." Sweet!
Molly's note: "Happy Birthday 36 Party Mom! I love you Mom. FRUM, Molly"
My breakfast - made by themselves and ready for me when I came down. Coffee (with plenty of coffeemate!) and peanut butter toast...and the special red plate given to all family members on their special days!

Give Thanks

WOW...how time flies! It's been over a year since I posted on our blog. I guess I've been ignoring it for awhile! And I am the WORST former Creative Memories consultant, because I rarely take pictures anymore. I think it's because I feel our life here is so redundant and "boring", if I can be blunt. I know many people would disagree...or others would envy our quiet and uncluttered lifestyle here. However, it does start to wear on one's attitude!

I miss a lot of things about the "outside" world. I miss going to movies, not waiting for them to arrive on Netflix. I miss going to restaurants, or stopping for "take out" every once in awhile. I miss ordering a pizza that is delivered right to your door! I miss picnics, playgrounds, Target and Costco. :) But, life is STILL good, and God is ALWAYS great. So, there is much to be thankful for!

We are not inundated with materialism, confronted by media images, or overwhelmed by a flurry of activity. Our kids are learning to appreciate simple pleasures and demand less. They learn to wait for things that they want instead of rushing out to Walmart to get it. We spend more time fellowshipping and developing relationships. We get to enjoy 8 MONTHS of winter. (OK, maybe that wasn't such a positive)

So, as I ramble...I need to be thankful. This is a season of thankfulness and I'm striving to create a more grateful heart. "This is the day that the Lord has made...let us REJOICE and be glad in it!"

Happy Birthday Hannah!

How is my baby 7???? We had a quick muffin breakfast (complete with candle!) for Hannah before she hurried off to catch the bus. Ryan, of course, enjoyed helping her blow it out! The red plate has been a tradition in my family since we were little girls...anyone celebrating something special gets to eat from it. The kids really love it, too. Happy Birthday, my sweet girl!

Daisy Tea Party

What a great time we had at our Mother/Daughter Tea Party! We wrapped up a year of Daisy Girl Scouts with a tea celebrating our moms and a year of friendship and fun. I wish I had a picture of the room...the tables were pretty and we had multiple teapots at each with REAL tea cups (Thanks, Shelly!)...we feasted on cookies and scones and played a few fun games.

I'm a little Daisy dressed in blue;
I am a Girl Scout and you are too!
When we come to meetings we sing and shout...
I love being a Daisy Girl Scout!!! :)

The girls worked really hard this year learning Bible verses in Awana. What a valuable ministry. It's been over 25 years since I was a "Spark" and God really used it in my young life...as I know He will in theirs.

Easter Morning

Happy Easter...He is Risen!!!

Molly and I made this quilt Easter week. It has her Cubbies (Awana) verse on it: "He is not here...He has risen!" We had a great time making it. These are my three little angels all dressed for church on Easter morning.
